“Sweetheart”

Jesus replied: “‘Love the Lord your God with all your heart and with all your soul and with all your mind.’

Many of us have heard the story behind Valentine’s Day.  It was a love story of St. Valentine, who was a Roman martyred for refusing to give up Christianity.  He had become befriended by the jailer’s daughter, and before his death he wrote a note, then signed it as “From Your Valentine”.  Today, Valentine has evolved into flowers, candy, cards, etc. Some Valentine gifts have come with monthly payments (cars, honeymoons, etc.)!  Folks have proposed to their sweethearts on this day.  There is excitement for those who have a child born on this day!  I can go on and on about the beauty of Valentine’s Day . . . but according to the story . . . it ended tragically.  He was killed and was only able to leave a note to his sweetheart.  But there is someone who tragically died for HIS sweetheart(s) too.

GOD, gives us a precious gift from HIS heart every day.  HE gives us Salvation.  HE gives us Grace.  HE gives us Mercy.  HE gives us Love.  St. Valentine gave his sweetheart a note.  But GOD gives HIS sweetheart(s) The Blood of the Lamb!  Let this Valentine’s Day be different from any other Valentine’s Day you have ever experienced!  Give your sweetheart flowers, candy, cards, etc., but give GOD your heart!  Love HIM with all your heart, with all your soul and with all your mind.  Trust me, HE will give you more!  Many will celebrate their anniversaries today . . . why don’t you celebrate this day with JESUS!  If you give HIM your heart, HE promises not to break it!

Rejoice In HIS Blessings

John 14:15

"If you love me, you will keep my commandments."

We can't escape our foundational truths -- God is LOVE, His LOVE is the only pure and unadulterated LOVE. No matter what holiday man may create, be it Christmas, Easter, or Valentine's Day...they will all fall short when compared to the true celebration of the LOVE...that LOVE we all have in Christ Jesus, our Lord and Savior...the greatest expression of divine love that this world has ever been given.

Point is, human love will always fall short...check out this quote of C.S. Lewis...I think it hits the nail on the head:

"Love is a choice. It's a commitment. Although feelings will accompany love, and although sex will be a part of marriage, a lasting, healthy relationship cannot be based on these things. The Bible says that God is love. God, as our designer and creator, made us with needs for love. Do you ever wonder why we constantly seek love from others but never feel completely satisfied? It's because God designed us for an unconditional love, and we, as people, are flawed." This ties in with what we've already learned about our personal fallacies, but it takes it one step further by showing us that just because we may have natural feelings of love towards someone or something doesn't prove that it is true love. Because we are imperfect fallible human beings these natural feelings are only feelings of lust and not pure Godly love."

Yes, we mere humans do fall short...but in accordance to John 14:15 "If you love me, you will keep my commandments"...Again, we're to keep the commandments of God. This is the only proper evidence of our love to Jesus, for mere profession is no proof of love; but that love for him which leads us to do all his will, to love each other, to deny ourselves, to take up our cross, and to follow him through tick and tin. The evidence is when we're willing, without hesitation, or complaining, do all that the God requires of us to do.

LOVE is the greatest power there is in ALL THE UNIVERSE!!! We must allow L.O.V.E. to rule over ALL! Let it rule in our minds, let it rule in our hearts, and let it rule in our lives; such that the evidence is clear...as we live a Life of Victory Eternally (L.O.V.E.)!!! -- We must L.O.V.E. in season and out of season, holiday or no holiday, leap year, or no leap year.

"If you give HIM your heart, HE promises not to break it" AMEN my brother!

All Praise And Glory Unto Our God In Heaven, Amen!
