Pray For Me - 1 Kings 13:6 (NIV)

Scripture of the Day
1 Kings 13:6 (NIV)
“Pray For Me”

Then the king said to the man of God, “Intercede with the LORD your God and pray for me that my hand may be restored.” So the man of God interceded with the LORD, and the king’s hand was restored and became as it was before.
-----------------------------------------------------------------
In verses 4-5, the man of GOD was crying our against the altar at Bethel and when the king stretched out his hand against this righteous man of GOD, the king’s hand shriveled.  Stand on righteousness, and those who come against you will have to shrivel in their unrighteous ways.  Not even the king could stand against the righteous man of GOD.

When the king saw his hand, he asked the man of GOD to pray for him!  How many feel that they can’t pray for their enemy?  When someone is trying to come against you, pray for them and ask others to pray for you!  Trust me . . . sometimes it will take the prayers of others to keep you faithful in your prayers for others.

This SOD is to encourage all of us, that no matter what our position is . . . we must never hesitate to ask the righteous man or woman of GOD to “Pray For Me”  And on the other side, don’t think that because someone is the president, pastor, minister, choir director, etc . . . they don’t need your prayers!  The enemy wants to take off the head to see a nation die, a church die, a ministry die, and a song in your heart die!  I am not ashamed to ask the righteous to “Pray For Me”

Finally, there is healing in the prayer of the righteous that is lift up HIS name. “The prayers of a righteous man avails much”  Just as the king’s hand was restored, so can your relationships, finances, health and faith!  You “Pray For Me!” and I will continue to pray for you!

Love Sincerely

You will always have a friend in me! I will be praying for you and the ministries GOD has entrusted you with. Keep singing to Him, keep preaching His word, and keep gloifying His name!

It is truly a blessing to see you praise God in the Spirit and in truth. When I pray to God for you, I actually call your name out!I call your wife's name and your children's names. He loves you! No matter what others say or do, always remember that! May God continue to bless you and your family.

Two things: Isn't it funny how the king saw and heard from the Lord through this holy man and still did not take God seriously - even after God restored his hand? We as christians do the same thing. God shows us His hand, warnings, and works. We get our blessing after a spanking(God given or self inflicted). Then we keep moving to the next thing, still not acknowledging what God has done! Keep reading to the end of this passage...the message was carried out that God gave, the people kept in their sin, and this led to their ruin. Second, you have to continue reading to the end of the story about this holy man. This is the reason why we truly need to pray for our leaders. This man heard from God and was given strict orders. However, he listened to another prophet who testalied and went against what God had already said. This is why it is so important we stay in fellowship with God and take heed to what He says, not what man says. Like a wise woman told me, "God ain't messy. He won't tell someone else something about you and leave you out the loop." God is faithful to confirm what He says. The holy man never consulted God about a change in plans. End result for living apart from God: death.

Yours in Christ,
