Not On The Menu - Luke 22:31-32 (NKJV)

And the LORD said, “Simon, Simon! Indeed, satan has asked for you, that he may sift you as wheat.  But I have prayed for you, that your faith should not fail; and when you have returned to Me, strengthen your brethren.”

----------------------------------------------------------------

Can you imagine hearing these words during that time! “(Insert your name), satan has asked for you”.  Most of our response/question would be, “LORD what did you tell him?” in a very sheepish way! And to hear JESUS say, “I have prayed for you . . . “ Is like hearing HIM say, I told satan that you were not on the menu!  Even though satan will spend the rest of our lives trying to destroy us . . . we should be encouraged that JESUS has taken us off of satan’s menu!  It doesn’t matter who you are, what your personality is like, just know . . . if you have JESUS . . . you are not on satan’s menu!

I'm not sure what you mean by "not on satan's menu". To me the scripture appears to be saying satan will be allowed to sift us, much as satan was allowed to wreck havoc on Job's life; but that Jesus is praying that our faith to be strong enough to bring us out on the other side.

You are on track with that one. Hopefully as you read the remaining SOD's of this week, you will see how they tie together! Both of us are saying the same thing in different ways! That's what I love about GOD's Word! One person can say Lord, and the other person can say Savior, but we are both talking about JESUS!
